Today is my Dad’s birthday. Happy Birthday Dad!! I love you!
My father didn’t tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.~Clarence B. Kelland
If you are not Dutch you probably didn’t congratulate me yesterday. On Mark’s Birthday. Because that is what people from Holland do.
Dutch people in Ripon throw me off on every birthday, but I did confirm it on Wikipedia: on someone’s birthday, you congratulate the people who are close to them. So if you know Mark and I didn’t mention it yesterday, Congratulations on Mark’s Birthday!
Weird right? It get’s me every every time. I thought it was crazy enough that someone would get congratulations just for being born, but then that congratulations is also extended to friends and family – maybe because they got them through the year?
Anyway, fun fact from Holland for you!
Mark loved his birthday gifts!
Congratulations family and friends on Mark’s 27th birthday!
Today is Mark’s birthday! I really wish it was not a Monday so we could spend all day celebrating him. But in any case, it is a good chance to tell him how thankful I am for him! And so I stole into his pictures to grab some good ones.
I love you handsome man and I am so thankful for you and all your 27 years of memories and many more to come! 🙂
So I really had all intentions of stopping the Birthday blog posts after Wednesday, but all the favorite things I took pictures of were birthday relates. So you can’t blame me for this one…
I didn’t really mean to make three days of birthday posts, but I found out that Mark recorded this so I thought I had to share it.
So here is one of the fun little bits about marrying into a very Dutch family; you get double the birthday songs!

This past weekend was VERY busy. I was celebrating a friend’s upcoming wedding on a bachelorette weekend. So it did not seem at all like the weekend before my 27th birthday! (How crazy is it that I am 27!!)
Luckily, my incredibly thoughtful husband did the sweetest thing and baked a cake so that when I got home on Sunday afternoon it felt like my birthday (which technically is today, Monday the 29th).
So he made me laugh and so made me really happy. But Mom: I know you read this. Stop reading. Come back tomorrow.
